We are now under the realms of the summer period and so this year 2013 recollection should be accomplished already. Now, one event that I was not able to mention in Back Trails was the event organized by the Pableños Group of Artists last August. Entitled “Nanang at Ubing” (the Ilocano terms for mother and child as mentioned to me by my grandmother), this activity was essentially a way through which to introduce works of art of our fellow San Pableños and at the same time, share the craft to people.

* an artist during a workshop
“Nanang at Ubing” ran from August 3 to August 7 composed of a series of workshops and exhibition tours. It reminded of the exhibit Rizal on Canvas a few years back. Definitely malls are good venues for such artistic talents to be shown.
* “Sanctuary” by Carlo Pujeda
* “Pangga ni Iloy” by Dante Palmes
* “Kalinga ng Ina” by Raquel Jacob
* “Inahan at Anak” by Amy Javier Brofar
I tried to show here as many works as possible which I was able to document. But the limitations on movement through the exhibit (because of an ongoing workshop) unfortunately resulted to incomplete photos. Hopefully next I will be able to do so.
The participating artists were: Lito Ballara, Jose Carlo Mendoza, Grace Divina Tolentino, Hermie Guarino, Maria Carmela Lanzuela, James de Guzman, Jenny Polvoreza, Gianina Giselle de Vela, Ephraim Frago, Zadkiel Galindo, Amy Javier Brofar, Rex Jzen Lavares, Jan Erwin Jabolin, Amihan Jumalon, Bernadette Reyes, Carlo Pujeda, Dante Palmes, David Paul Baluyot, Dino Santos, David Temperante, Doris Rodriguez, Eduardo Busmente, Edwin Jumalon, Fel Plata, Is Jumalon, Ivan Arnaldo, Jakob Rodriguez, Jana Jumalon, Joy Igano-Capili.

* “Self-Same” by Ted Camahalan
* “Aruga” by Uli Cabrera Samanieg
