Rizal: Malay, Diwa, Puso, at Buhay Conference Day 3 (Part III) – “Pepe’s Wall” Play

A lively question and answer portion of the conference pushed back the staging of the play “Pepe’s Wall” beyond noontime which was reserved for the participants’ lunch break. However, I think the time taken away from the break was well spent, seeing that the play was greatly enjoyed by the conference participants.

I have already talked about the set of presentations by Arts Research and Training Institute in Southern Tagalog, Inc. (or ARTIST, Inc.) in an earlier entry (see it here). And Pepe’s Wall was particularly touching and engaging at the same time. The laughter it drew from the crowd is a testament to its capability to touching certain issues about the life of Rizal (and of the contemporary times as well) in a humorous and enjoyable way.
