Cirque Du Soleil in Manila

* the tents of Cirque Du Soleil

After attending a scientific meeting in Manila Hotel, I thought of roaming some parts of the Quirino Grandstand. The hostage drama which happened in that area is still fresh to my memory as we were just one block away from the Grandstand during that fateful day.

Instead of lingering on the Grandstand itself, my attention was shifted to the tents put up on the open area across the Grandstand. This is actually the presentation area of Cirque Du Soleil, a renowned Canadian entertainment company which has already presented in many parts of the globe. The group is bringing to the country their “Varekai” production, written and directed by Dominic Champagne. Cirque Du Soleil’s show is presented by Manila Hotel and Banco de Oro. It started on June 22 and will end July 24.
